Happy Face Murinni/ Millefiore COE90

Each patterned slice in this jar shows a classic happy face: a bright yellow disc with two black dot eyes and a curved black smile. The design is bold and graphic, so the face stays recognizable from the smallest slices up to the largest, and the hand drawn quality of the smiles gives each one slight character of its own. A few solid yellow pieces appear in the mix where the cane shows edge on.

Murrini, also called millefiori, are small cross-section slices of patterned glass cane. Rated COE90, they are placed on the surface of a fused glass project and fired in, adding color and motif to jewelry, plates, suncatchers, dishes, and ornaments.

Working Notes

A full fuse melts the slices flat and flush with the surrounding glass for a smooth, integrated surface. A tack fuse stops at a lower peak, leaving the slices slightly raised with more defined edges and a subtle dimensional profile. Choose based on the finish you want.
