The Leaves Mold from Colour de Verre casts three leaf shapes in a single firing: two at approximately 2.5 inches and one at approximately 3 inches. The three cavities let you produce a coordinated set of botanical accents suited to garden panels, floral arrangements, and textured jewelry pieces.
Load the two smaller cavities with about 30 grams of frit each and the larger cavity with about 40 grams, then fire to cast the shapes. Like all ceramic casting molds, this one is COE agnostic and reusable across many firings when primed and cared for properly.
What does the Leaves Mold make? It casts three leaf shapes in one firing: two at approximately 2.5 inches and one at approximately 3 inches. They work as accents for botanical fused glass panels, floral jewelry, and garden-themed pieces.
How much glass do I need per cavity? Colour de Verre lists about 30 grams for each of the two 2.5 inch cavities and about 40 grams for the 3 inch cavity. Weigh your frit and test a first run when the result matters.
What COE glass can I use? Any COE. Ceramic casting molds are COE agnostic, so this mold works with COE96, COE90, or other fusible glass. Match your firing schedule to the glass you are using.
How do I prep the mold before casting? Prime the cavities before every firing with ZYP BN Lubricoat or Hotline Primo Primer and let the coating dry completely before adding glass. Re-prime as needed between firings.

Working Notes
These are guidelines, not guarantees. Every kiln fires a little differently, so test a small run first when the result matters and follow the Colour de Verre project sheet for this mold.
Prime the cavities before every firing with ZYP Boron Nitride Mold Primer or Hotline Primo Primer and let the coating dry completely before adding glass so the cast pieces release cleanly.
Fill the two smaller cavities with about 30 grams of frit each and the larger cavity with about 40 grams. Frit, crushed glass, or small billet pieces all work as fill.
The mold is COE agnostic. Use a fusing schedule matched to your glass, adjusting the anneal soak for your COE.
Let the kiln cool fully before removing the cast leaves. Re-prime the mold before the next firing.
Colour de Verre Suggested Firing Schedule
This is a suggested starting schedule, not a guarantee. Every kiln fires differently. Follow the Colour de Verre project sheet for this mold and test a small run first.
Heat no faster than about 350 F (195 C) per hour through the initial ramp.
Fire to no more than about 1450 F (785 C).
Cool with a controlled ramp and add an anneal soak suited to your glass: about 950 F for COE96, or about 900 F for COE90.
