Mushrooms Decal Sheet

How do I apply a water-slide decal to my glass?
Cut out the design you want to use, then soak it in clean water for about 30 seconds until the image slides freely from its paper backing. Position it on your clean, pre-fired glass surface, slide it into place, and smooth out any trapped water or air bubbles with a soft tool or your fingertip. Let the decal dry completely before loading the kiln.

Can I use multiple designs from this sheet on a single piece?
Yes. Each mushroom image is printed as a separate, individually cuttable decal, so you can arrange several on one piece of glass. A scattered grouping across a fused panel or a single accent on a small tile both work well. Make sure every decal is fully dry and lying flat before you fire.

Do I need to match the COE of the decal to my glass?
No. Water-slide decals fire onto the surface of glass rather than fusing into it as a structural layer, so there is no COE compatibility requirement. You can use this sheet on any pre-fired glass you already have in your studio.

What types of glass projects suit these decals?
The fine-line engraving style reads clearly on flat or gently curved surfaces. Fused panels, small plates, coasters, accent tiles, and shallow bowls are all strong candidates. The black-and-white line work pairs well with both clear and lightly tinted glass backgrounds.

Working Notes

Apply each decal to clean, dry, pre-fired glass. A smoother surface texture on your pre-fired piece will give the decal better contact and a cleaner result. Once positioned and smoothed, allow the decal to dry fully before loading the kiln. These designs translate well onto flat panels and tiles where the fine cross-hatched line work has room to show its detail. Always test a small decal on a scrap piece before committing a finished project, and anneal for the thickness of your glass.

Suggested Firing Schedule (a suggested starting point only, not a guarantee of results): Final firing temperature is roughly 1240 to 1370 degrees, held about 10 minutes and kept toward the lower end to preserve density. Ventilate the kiln well up to 1000 degrees and fire slowly below 500 degrees.
50 DPH to 185 degrees, HOLD/SOAK 20 min.
150 DPH to 300 degrees, HOLD/SOAK 15 min.
250 DPH to 500 degrees, HOLD/SOAK 15 min.
600 DPH to 1000 degrees, HOLD/SOAK 10 min.
Then advance to 1240 to 1370 degrees, HOLD/SOAK 10 min.
Anneal for the thickness of your glass. Every kiln fires differently, so test a small piece first.
