Neo-lavender Opalescent Frit Balls COE90

Pale lavender, opaque and uniform, with a faint blue tinge in daylight. Under a warm bulb the same balls lean pink, which is the trick of this glass: it shifts with the light source.

Frit balls are fused glass beads of about 3 to 6 mm, sold in half ounce bags of roughly 100 to 130. Being COE90 Bullseye glass, they go only into tested COE90 pieces. Bullseye lists 000142 Neo Lavender Opalescent with no strike and no reactive ingredients, so it fires clean against any COE90 color.

Why does Neo Lavender look different in different rooms?
Bullseye says it appears more pink in incandescent light and more blue in fluorescent, and that the hue moves with thickness and lighting whether or not the glass has been fired. The shift is a property of the glass, not a firing result, so a finished piece keeps changing with the light it lives in. Judge the color under the light the finished work will hang in.
