Oceanside Opalart Blackberry Cream (style OGTOA63452SF) is System 96 tested-compatible 96 COE fusible sheet glass, a swirled opal of deep purple and cream in a smooth surface.
Appearance
This Opalart sheet swirls deep blackberry purple and near black through soft white and cream, marbled in long flowing currents. The purples are dense while the cream streaks stay pale and opal, so the sheet reads as a strong two tone marble with high contrast. No two areas of the sheet look quite the same.
Working notes
Because the pattern is swirled, cutting from different parts of the sheet gives very different looks, so plan your cuts around the flow you want. As a mostly opal glass it reads as a solid marble over both light and dark grounds. The smooth face fuses to a gloss on a full fuse; a tack fuse holds more surface relief. The dark and light areas keep their contrast through firing.
Reactions
This is a copper-bearing color, rated high on the System 96 reactive scale. Fused against a sulfur-bearing glass it can develop a reaction line or a shift in color where the two meet, an effect fusers use on purpose for shading and depth. Next to non-reactive colors it stays true. See the System 96 Reactive Color Chart for the colors it reacts with.
Format and sizes
Sold as 3mm smooth sheet glass. Choose your size from the options on this page.
Fusing and compatibility
Tested compatible with other System 96 glass, so it fuses cleanly with any 96 COE product in the System 96 family. When you combine it with glass from other makers, matching COE alone does not guarantee compatibility, so fire a small test tile first.
