Oceanside OpalArt Strawberries and Cream (style OGTOA3551SF) is System 96 tested-compatible 96 COE fusible sheet glass, an opalescent swirl of red and creamy white.
Appearance
The photo shows ribbons of strawberry red winding through soft opalescent white in a marbled OpalArt pattern. The red is bright and the white is a warm cream, the two swirling together like berries folded into cream, on a smooth glossy surface.
Working notes
As an OpalArt glass the white areas are opal and light-blocking while the red reads as a rich streak, so the sheet holds its pattern over any background. Because the swirls vary, plan cuts to catch the flow you want. A full fuse smooths the surface while keeping the marbled pattern, and a tack fuse holds more relief.
Reactions
This is a sulfur-bearing color, rated low on the System 96 reactive scale. Fused against a copper-bearing glass it can develop a reaction line or a shift in color where the two meet, an effect fusers use on purpose for shading and depth. Next to non-reactive colors it stays true. See the System 96 Reactive Color Chart for the colors it reacts with.
Format and sizes
Sold as 3mm smooth OpalArt sheet glass. Choose your size from the options on this page.
Fusing and compatibility
Tested compatible with other System 96 glass, so it fuses cleanly with any 96 COE product in the System 96 family. When you combine it with glass from other makers, matching COE alone does not guarantee compatibility, so fire a small test tile first.
