Oceanside Pale Purple (style 1408-96) is a pale purple transparent frit, System 96 96 COE fusible crushed glass.
Appearance
A soft mauve-purple with a dusty pink cast, clear and translucent so the grains sparkle where light passes through. Spread out it reads as a delicate lavender field with lighter and darker specks.
Working notes
Pale purple adds a gentle lavender tint for shading and soft gradients. As a transparent it deepens where it layers over itself or a colored base.
Reactions
This color is not on the System 96 reactive list, so it sits next to other colors without forming a reaction line. See the System 96 Reactive Color Chart for the colors that do react.
Using the frit
Frit is crushed glass in grades from fine powder to coarse grains; finer grades give smooth even coverage, coarser grades bring sparkle and texture, and it packs into open casting molds.
Fusing and compatibility
Fuses cleanly with any other 96 COE glass in the System 96 family. Matching COE alone does not guarantee compatibility across makers, so fire a small test tile when mixing brands.
