Oceanside Steel Blue/White (style OGT83874SF) is System 96 tested-compatible 96 COE fusible sheet glass, a streaky blend of soft steel blue and opal white in a smooth sheet.
Appearance
Pale steel blue swirled with milky white in a soft watery pattern, with faint warm gold flickers running through. The blue passages read cooler and translucent, the white streaks cloudy and opaque, giving a gentle wave-like movement over a smooth glossy finish.
Working notes
The blue passes some light while the white stays solid, and the pattern varies across the sheet, so cut to feature more blue or more white. Over a light base the blue brightens and the streaking shows; over dark the white carries the design. A full fuse holds the smooth face; a tack fuse keeps dimension while rounding edges.
Reactions
This is a copper-bearing color, rated medium on the System 96 reactive scale. Fused against a sulfur-bearing glass it can develop a reaction line or a shift in color where the two meet, an effect fusers use on purpose for shading and depth. Fusing and compatibility
Fuses cleanly with any other 96 COE product in the System 96 family. With glass from other makers, matching COE alone does not guarantee compatibility, so fire a small test tile first.
