The Peony Textured Fusing Tile from Creative Paradise is a round ceramic tile, 11 inches in diameter, that transfers a raised peony relief pattern to the surface of fused glass. Place the primed tile on your kiln shelf, lay a sheet or fused blank of glass directly on top, and fire to full fuse. As the glass softens, it picks up the peony texture from the tile surface, imprinting the pattern onto the underside of the finished piece.
Frit can also be fused directly on the tile surface to create a patterned texture piece without a base glass sheet. Like all ceramic kiln tiles, this one is COE agnostic and reusable across many firings when properly primed. Creative Paradise recommends following the glass separator or kiln wash manufacturer instructions for applying and curing the separator before each use.
How does the Peony Textured Fusing Tile work? Place the primed tile on your kiln shelf and lay your glass on top. During a full fuse, the glass softens and conforms to the tile surface, picking up the peony pattern as a texture on the underside of the finished piece.
Can I use frit directly on this tile? Yes. Frit can be fused directly on the tile surface to create a textured, patterned glass piece without a base sheet.
What COE glass works with this tile? Any COE. Ceramic texture tiles are COE agnostic, so the same tile works with COE96, COE90, or other fusible glass. Match your firing schedule to the glass you are using.
How do I prep the tile before use? Coat the tile surface with a kiln shelf primer such as a boron nitride spray or kiln wash, following the separator manufacturer instructions, and let it dry completely before placing glass on top.

Working Notes
These are guidelines, not guarantees. Every kiln fires a little differently, so test a small run first when the result matters and follow a fusing schedule suited to your glass and kiln.
Prime the tile surface with a boron nitride mold primer such as ZYP Boron Nitride Mold Primer , or a kiln wash such as Hotline Primo Primer , following the separator manufacturer instructions, and let it dry completely before placing glass on top.
Place the tile on your kiln shelf and lay a sheet of glass or a fused blank directly on top. Frit may also be fused directly on the tile surface to create a textured pattern piece.
The tile is COE agnostic. Use a full fuse schedule matched to your glass, adjusting the final anneal soak for your COE.
Let the kiln cool fully before removing the glass. Re coat the tile with primer as needed between firings.
The Slide Hi Temp brand separator is not recommended with these tiles.
Creative Paradise Suggested Firing Schedule
This is a suggested COE96 starting schedule, not a guarantee. Every kiln fires differently. Test a small run and adjust the schedule for your glass and kiln.
Full Fuse (COE96): suggested for a double layer of glass with frit.
Segment Rate Temp (F) Hold 1 275 1150 60 2 50 1300 20 3 350 1465 05 4 9999 950* 60
*Segment 4 is the anneal soak at 950 F for COE96. If using COE90, adjust this temperature to 900 F.
