Bright red with an orange undertone, opaque, and visibly varied: most balls are a clear pimento red, a few lean toward orange red, and the larger ones show a hint of lighter dappling. That variation in density is what Bullseye describes for the cold glass.
Each ball began as glass frit fired into a rounded bead of about 3 to 6 mm, with roughly 100 to 130 in the half ounce bag. Bullseye glass at COE90, meant for tested COE90 glass only. Pimento Red goes to work on ladybugs, berries, poppies and holiday dots, brightest over white and deepening toward crimson over black.
Will the Pimento Red balls even out? Bullseye says 000225 matures to red and becomes more consistent upon firing, with no published hold. These balls have been fused once, so they are already most of the way there; your firing takes them the rest of the way to an even red. The glass carries sulfur and selenium and may react with copper, lead and silver bearing colors, drawing a dark line around each dot over the copper blues and greens, and Bullseye rules the style out for kilncasting.
