Rainbow Circle Decal Sheet

Each of the twenty decals on this sheet features a circular pinwheel design divided into curved, spiral segments rendered in a full rainbow spectrum of red, orange, yellow, green, blue, and purple. The segments sweep inward in a swirling arrangement, giving each circle the appearance of rotation. The color fill is flat and saturated with clean black outlines separating each wedge, producing a bold, graphic look. All twenty circles carry the same design and are arranged in a uniform grid of four rows by five columns.

These are water-slide transfers. Each decal is applied to the surface of clean, pre-fired glass: soak the decal until it releases from its backing, slide it into position on the glass, press out any water and air, allow it to dry completely, and then fire in a kiln. Because the decal bonds to the glass surface rather than fusing as a glass layer, it requires no COE matching and works on any type of pre-fired glass.

How are the decals arranged on the sheet?
All twenty rainbow pinwheel circles are printed in a four-row by five-column grid. Each circle is the same design, so the sheet provides twenty identical motifs ready to cut apart and use individually or in multiples.

Do I need glass with a specific COE?
No. These water-slide decals fire onto the surface of already-fired glass rather than being fused as a glass layer, so COE compatibility is not a requirement. You can apply them to fused, slumped, or cast glass regardless of the glass type.

How do I apply and fire a circle decal?
Cut the desired circle from the sheet, soak it in water for 20 to 30 seconds until it slides freely on its paper backing, then position it on a clean, dry, pre-fired glass surface. Slide the backing away while holding the decal in place and use a soft squeegee or fingertip to press out any water and air from beneath the decal. Allow the piece to dry fully before placing it in the kiln, then fire using the schedule below.

Can I use the circles in different arrangements on the same piece?
Yes. Individual circles can be trimmed to partial arcs, overlapped, or spaced across a panel to create different compositional effects. All twenty decals carry the same rainbow pinwheel motif, so variation comes from placement and spacing rather than from different designs within the sheet.

Working Notes

Apply decals only to clean, grease-free, pre-fired glass. A wipe with isopropyl alcohol before application helps the decal adhere evenly. Keep each decal flat and bubble-free during drying, and load the kiln only after the piece is fully dry to avoid steam issues during the early temperature ramp.

Suggested Firing Schedule (a suggested starting point only, not a guarantee of results): Final firing temperature is roughly 1275 to 1380 degrees, held about 10 minutes. Ventilate the kiln well up to 1000 degrees and fire slowly below 500 degrees.
50 DPH to 185 degrees, HOLD/SOAK 20 min.
150 DPH to 300 degrees, HOLD/SOAK 15 min.
250 DPH to 500 degrees, HOLD/SOAK 15 min.
600 DPH to 1000 degrees, HOLD/SOAK 10 min.
Then advance to 1275 to 1380 degrees, HOLD/SOAK 10 min.
Anneal for the thickness of your glass. Every kiln fires differently, so test a small piece first.
