Rainbow with Cloud Decal Sheet

This sheet carries ten arched rainbow-and-cloud motifs arranged in two columns of five. Each design shows a classic arc with bold, solid color bands in red, orange, yellow, green, blue, and indigo, paired with fluffy white clouds outlined in blue. The two columns differ in layout: one set rests the clouds at the base ends of the arch, while the other places the clouds at the upper ends, giving you two orientations of the same cheerful design. The motifs are printed in saturated, clear color and read well as focal accents or as repeating elements across a fused glass surface.

These are water-slide fusible glass decals that fire directly onto pre-fired glass. Because they sit on the surface rather than fusing as a compatible layer, no COE matching is required. Soak each decal briefly in water until the backing releases, slide the image into position on clean, pre-fired glass, smooth out water and bubbles from the center outward, allow the piece to dry fully, then fire per the schedule below. The fired-on image adds color and graphic character to tiles, panels, platters, sun catchers, and glass jewelry.

What projects work well with these decals?
The arched rainbow-and-cloud design suits fused tiles, decorative wall panels, garden art, and children's room accents. The bold arc reads clearly against clear, white, or light-tinted base glass. Use a single decal as a focal point on a small tile or pendant, or space several across a larger platter for a repeating pattern.

Do these need to match the COE of my base glass?
No. These decals fire onto glass that has already been fused and annealed, so no COE matching is required. Use them over any glass you already work with.

Can I cut the sheet apart to use motifs separately?
Yes. Use sharp scissors to separate individual motifs before soaking, cutting as close to the printed image as needed. Soak and apply only the piece you need, and store the rest flat in a cool, dry location away from direct light.

Do these have a metallic finish?
No. The rainbow bands and cloud outlines are printed in full color rather than a metallic finish. Fire it as a full-color decal, and note that full-color prints are semi-translucent, so they read best on white or light glass.

Working Notes

Apply each decal to clean, pre-fired, dust-free glass. Soak the decal for 20 to 30 seconds until the film releases from the paper backing, then slide the image into position and smooth out trapped water and air from the center outward using a soft squeegee or damp fingertip. Allow the piece to dry completely before loading the kiln. Moisture remaining under the decal can cause lifting or bubbling during firing. Keep the glass and decal free of kiln wash and debris during drying.

Suggested Firing Schedule (a starting point only, not a guarantee of results): This is a full-color decal, which is semi-translucent and reads best on white or light glass, losing strength on medium to dark glass. Ventilate the kiln well up to 1000 degrees F and fire slowly below 500 degrees F. Every kiln fires differently, so test a small piece first and anneal for the thickness of your glass.
50 degrees per hour to 185 degrees F, hold 20 min.
150 degrees per hour to 300 degrees F, hold 15 min.
250 degrees per hour to 500 degrees F, hold 15 min.
600 degrees per hour to 1000 degrees F, hold 10 min.
Then to 1275 to 1380 degrees F, hold about 10 min.
Anneal for the thickness of your glass.
