The Rose Mold from Colour de Verre casts two rose blossoms in a single firing, one large at 2-1/4 inches and one medium at 1-3/4 inches. The two different sizes in one mold let you mix scale within a composition, which is practical for jewelry pieces, platter accents, or decorative home decor where varying bloom sizes add dimension.
Fill the large cavity with about 45 grams of frit and the medium cavity with about 30 grams. Like all ceramic casting molds, this one is COE agnostic: the same mold works with COE96, COE90, or other fusible glass as long as you match your firing schedule to the glass you are using. Colour de Verre recommends priming the mold before every use. For smaller blossoms, the Colour de Verre Small Mixed Flowers No. 1 mold complements these two sizes, and the Colour de Verre Leaves mold adds natural context to finished floral arrangements.
What does the Rose Mold make? It casts two rose blossoms per firing: one large at 2-1/4 inches and one medium at 1-3/4 inches. Both sizes work as jewelry pendants, platter accents, or panel focal pieces.
What COE glass can I use in this mold? Any COE. Ceramic casting molds are COE agnostic, so the same mold works with COE96, COE90, or other fusible glass. Match your firing schedule to the glass you are using.
How much glass do I need per cavity? Colour de Verre lists about 45 grams for the large rose cavity and about 30 grams for the medium. Weigh your frit and test a first run when the result matters.
How do I prep the mold before casting? Prime the cavities before every use with a mold primer such as ZYP BN Lubricoat or Hotline Primo Primer . Let the primer dry completely before adding glass so the cast pieces release cleanly.
