The Round Napkin Rings mold from Colour de Verre casts two round napkin rings in a single firing. Each finished ring measures 3.25 inches (84 mm) in diameter. The mold footprint is 4.75 inches by 9 inches by 1 inch (12 x 23 x 2.5 cm), and each cavity takes about 75 grams of frit.
Prime the cavities before every use with ZYP BN Lubricoat or Hotline Primo Primer , fill with your choice of frit colors and mesh, and fire. Colour de Verre notes that when the mold is primed with ZYP BN Lubricoat , little to no cold-working is needed for a polished finish. Like all ceramic casting molds, this one is COE agnostic and reusable across many firings with proper care.
What does the Round Napkin Rings mold make? It casts two round napkin rings per firing, each 3.25 inches (84 mm) in diameter. They work well as table accessories or as personalized glass gifts.
What COE glass can I use in this mold? Any COE. Ceramic casting molds are COE agnostic, so the same mold works with COE96, COE90, or other fusible glass. Match your firing schedule to the glass you are using.
How much glass do I need per ring? Colour de Verre lists about 75 grams of frit per cavity. Weigh your glass and test a first run when the result matters.
How do I prep the mold before casting? Prime the cavities before every use with ZYP BN Lubricoat or Hotline Primo Primer and let the primer dry completely before adding glass. Re-prime between firings.
