- Colour de Verre specifies priming before every firing. Apply ZYP Boron Nitride Mold Primer or Hotline Primo Primer to the cavities and let it dry completely before adding glass.
- Fill scarab cavities with 5, 12, or 15 grams of frit depending on cavity size. Fill ankh cavities with 0.5, 2, or 4 grams depending on cavity size.
- For the scarab cavities, placing a layer of dichroic glass in the cavity and topping it with frit produces a multi-layered cabochon with color depth, in a style that references art deco jewelry.
- Heat no faster than about 350 F (195 C) per hour. Do not exceed about 1450 F (785 C).
- Let the kiln cool fully before removing cast pieces. Re-prime the mold before each subsequent firing.
