Working Notes

These are guidelines, not guarantees. Every kiln fires a little differently, so test a small run first when the result matters and follow the Colour de Verre project sheet for this mold.

• Prime the mold cavities before every use with ZYP Boron Nitride Mold Primer or Hotline Primo Primer, and let it dry completely before adding glass so the beads release cleanly.
• Fill the cavities with frit or small glass pieces. The mold is COE agnostic, so use a casting schedule matched to your glass and COE.
• Re-prime the mold between firings and let the kiln cool fully before removing the cast beads.

Colour de Verre Suggested Firing Schedule

This is a suggested starting point, not a guarantee. Every kiln fires differently. Follow the Colour de Verre project sheet for this mold and test a small run first when the result matters.

• Heat no faster than about 350 F (195 C) per hour during ramp-up.
• Fire to a peak of no more than about 1450 F (785 C).
• Allow a controlled cool with an anneal soak at the appropriate temperature for your glass and COE.
