What COE glass can I use with this tile?
Any COE. Ceramic molds are COE agnostic, so the same tile works with COE96, COE90, or other fusible glass. Match your firing schedule to the glass you are using and adjust the anneal soak temperature accordingly.

How do I prep the tile before firing?
Coat the textured surface with a boron nitride mold primer or a kiln wash such as Hotline Primo Primer and let it dry completely before placing glass on it. This prevents the glass from bonding to the tile during firing.

Working Notes

These are guidelines, not guarantees. Every kiln fires a little differently, so test a small run first when the result matters and follow a firing schedule suited to your glass and kiln.

• Prime the textured tile surface with a boron nitride mold primer such as ZYP Boron Nitride Mold Primer, or a kiln wash, and let it dry completely before placing glass on it so the glass does not stick.
• Place glass face-down on the primed tile. For simultaneous texturing and fusing, stack two compatible sheet glass layers face-down on the tile and fire to the full fuse schedule.
• For texturing a pre-fused blank, place the blank face-down on the primed tile and use the lower-temperature texturing schedule.
• The tile is COE agnostic. Adjust the final anneal soak temperature for your COE: 950 F for COE96 or 900 F for COE90.
• Let the kiln cool fully before removing the textured piece. Re-coat the tile with primer as needed between firings.
• The Slide Hi Temp brand separator is not recommended with these molds.

This is a suggested COE96 starting schedule, not a guarantee. Every kiln fires differently. Test a small run and adjust the schedule for your glass and kiln.
