The Small Mixed Flowers 2 mold from Colour de Verre casts three distinct glass blossoms in a single firing: an Anemone, a Dogwood, and a Trillium, each approximately 2 inches across. The three cavities yield finished pieces suited to jewelry making, including pendants, earrings, and brooches, as well as decorative embellishments and layered floral art projects.
Fill weights vary by bloom type. The Anemone cavity takes about 45 grams of frit, while the Dogwood and Trillium cavities each take about 33 grams. Load the prepared cavities with frit or small glass pieces, fire the mold, and the glass takes the shape of each blossom. Like all ceramic casting molds, it is COE agnostic and reusable across many firings when prepped and cared for properly.
What does the Small Mixed Flowers 2 mold make? It casts three different glass flower shapes in a single firing: an Anemone, a Dogwood, and a Trillium, each approximately 2 inches across. They are well suited to pendants, earrings, brooches, and other small decorative projects.
What COE glass can I use in this mold? Any COE. Ceramic casting molds are COE agnostic, so the same mold works with COE96, COE90, or other fusible glass. Match your firing schedule and anneal soak to the glass you are using.
How much glass do I need per cavity? Colour de Verre lists about 45 grams for the Anemone and about 33 grams each for the Dogwood and Trillium. Weigh your frit and test a first run when the result matters.
How do I prep the mold before casting? Prime each cavity with a boron nitride mold primer before every use, and let it dry completely before adding glass. Colour de Verre recommends ZYP BN Lubricoat or Hotline Primo Primer for these molds.

Let the kiln cool fully to room temperature before opening and removing the cast pieces. Re-prime the mold before every subsequent firing.
Suggested Firing Schedule
This is a suggested starting point, not a guarantee. Every kiln fires differently. Follow the Colour de Verre project sheet for this mold and test a small run first.
Heat no faster than about 350 F (195 C) per hour during the ramp to fusing temperature.
Fire to no more than about 1450 F (785 C). Do not exceed this ceiling with these ceramic molds.
Add a controlled cool with an anneal soak suited to your glass: about 900 F for COE90, or about 950 F for COE96.
