These are guidelines, not guarantees. Every kiln fires a little differently, so test a small run first when the result matters and follow a firing schedule suited to your glass and kiln.
- Prime the mold before every use with ZYP Boron Nitride Mold Primer or Hotline Primo Primer. Apply an even coat and let it dry completely before loading glass.
- Fill each cavity with 25 to 30 grams of frit. Clear frit gives a clean, light-catching result. Colored or dichroic frit and flakes add depth and variation to the finished piece.
- The mold is COE agnostic. Use a fusing schedule suited to your glass and adjust the anneal soak for your COE (about 950 F for COE96, or about 900 F for COE90).
- Let the kiln cool fully and complete the anneal soak before opening. Re-prime the mold as needed between firings.

This is a suggested starting schedule, not a guarantee. Every kiln fires differently. Follow the Colour de Verre project sheet for this mold and test a small run first.
- Ramp no faster than about 350 F (195 C) per hour to avoid thermal shock to the mold.
- Fire to no more than about 1450 F (785 C).
- Hold at the top temperature as needed for a full fuse.
- Cool with an anneal soak at about 950 F for COE96, or about 900 F for COE90.
