This sheet presents four large solid-color fields arranged in a two-by-two grid: a deep primary red, a bright yellow, a cobalt blue, and a warm orange. Each field is a flat, opaque block of color that you cut into any shape before application, ready to add bold, even color to fused glass work.
Solid Color Glass Decals are water-slide transfers for fused glass. Soak a cut section in room-temperature water until the film loosens, slide it onto clean pre-fired glass, smooth out trapped water and air, let it dry fully, then fire. The result is a layer of consistent color bonded to the glass surface, useful for jewelry pieces, panels, collage compositions, and accent details. Because the decal fires onto the surface of already-fired glass rather than being sandwiched as a layer, it does not need to match the COE of your base glass.
Can I cut these decals into custom shapes before applying? Yes. Because each field is a uniform, uninterrupted block of color with no pattern to align, you can use scissors, a craft knife, or a die-cut machine to cut any geometric or freeform shape before soaking. Cut first, soak second.
How do I apply a solid color decal to pre-fired glass? Soak the cut decal in room-temperature water for about 30 seconds until the film slides freely from the backing. Position it on clean, dry, pre-fired glass, slide the backing away while holding the film in place, then smooth the film flat with a soft squeegee or fingertip to work out trapped water and bubbles. Let it dry completely before loading the kiln.
Do these decals require a specific COE glass? No. The decal fires onto the surface of already-fired glass rather than between compatible layers, so it works with any COE glass.
Can I layer two colors in one piece? Yes, with separate firing cycles. Apply and fire the first color, let the piece cool and anneal fully, then apply the second decal and fire again. Each layer needs its own complete firing and annealing cycle.

SKU: 183084 Sheet size: 4 x 5.25 inches Sold as a single printed water-slide decal sheet Four solid color fields: red, yellow, blue, and orange Cut to any shape before soaking Compatible with any COE glass (applied to a pre-fired surface) Working Notes
Cut your shapes from the dry sheet before soaking to minimize handling of wet film. Keep pre-fired glass clean and free of skin oils so the decal adheres well. Let the applied decal dry completely at room temperature before placing the piece in the kiln, since trapped moisture can cause bubbling during the firing. Always fire a test tile in your own kiln before committing to a finished piece, as results depend on your glass, kiln, and shelf placement.
Suggested Firing Schedule (a starting point only, not a guarantee of results; every kiln fires differently, so test a small piece first and anneal for the thickness of your glass): Ventilate the kiln well up to 1000 degrees and fire slowly below 500 degrees. Ramp 50 degrees per hour to 185 degrees, hold 20 minutes. Ramp 150 degrees per hour to 300 degrees, hold 15 minutes. Ramp 250 degrees per hour to 500 degrees, hold 15 minutes. Ramp 600 degrees per hour to 1000 degrees, hold 10 minutes. Then ramp to a final 1240 to 1370 degrees, held about 10 minutes, staying toward the lower end to preserve density. Anneal for the thickness of your glass.
