These are water-slide decals for pre-fired glass. Soak until the film releases from the backing, slide it onto a clean, dry pre-fired surface, and smooth from the center outward to remove water and air. Allow the piece to dry completely before firing. Because the decal bonds on top of the glass rather than fusing as a structural layer, it works with any COE glass.
Can I apply these to a piece I have already fused? Yes. These decals are intended for pre-fired glass. Apply the decal, let it dry, fire the piece, and the design bonds permanently to the surface.
Do the decals need to match my glass COE? No. Water-slide decals fire onto the glass surface and do not fuse as a compatible layer, so they work with any COE glass.
How do I prevent trapped bubbles? After positioning the decal, use a soft squeegee or fingertip to work from the center outward, easing water and air toward the edges without tearing the film. Let the piece dry fully, which may take several hours, before loading the kiln.

Clean the glass surface thoroughly before applying. Oils, kiln wash residue, or fine dust beneath the film can cause lifting or uneven adhesion. If placing only one or two designs, cut them apart before soaking for easier positioning. Let the applied decal dry completely before firing, since rushing can cause steam-related defects. Every kiln fires differently, so test a small piece and anneal for the thickness of your glass.
Suggested Firing Schedule (a starting point only, not a guarantee of results; every kiln fires differently, so test a small piece first and anneal for the thickness of your glass): Ventilate the kiln well up to 1000 degrees and fire slowly below 500 degrees. Ramp 50 degrees per hour to 185 degrees, hold 20 minutes. Ramp 150 degrees per hour to 300 degrees, hold 15 minutes. Ramp 250 degrees per hour to 500 degrees, hold 15 minutes. Ramp 600 degrees per hour to 1000 degrees, hold 10 minutes. Then ramp to a final 1240 to 1370 degrees, held about 10 minutes, staying toward the lower end to preserve density. Anneal for the thickness of your glass.
