Steel Blue dots are a muted, slightly gray mid blue, the color of denim or a slate roof, and the pile is matte and opaque with a little tonal shift from dot to dot. It is a calm blue that keeps to the background.
Slices of 6 mm Bullseye cane about 2 to 3 mm thick, COE90, for COE90 glass only. Muted blues carry mood where bright ones carry cheer. Use it for a storm sky over a gray base, deep water in a quiet palette, denim on a nautical plate, or as shading under lighter blue dots on a fish or a wave.
How does steel blue behave on a base? Opaque and subdued, so it holds as a dusty blue on any base without shouting. On black it reads as a soft slate; on white it is a calm denim blue. It works for storm skies, denim and nautical themes, and shading on blue objects.
