Working Notes

These are guidelines, not guarantees. Every kiln fires a little differently, so test a small run first when the result matters and follow a slumping schedule suited to your glass and kiln.

• Prime the mold surface with a boron nitride mold primer such as ZYP Boron Nitride Mold Primer, or a kiln wash such as Hotline Primo Primer, and let it dry completely before placing the bottle on it so the glass does not stick.
• Place a clean, label-free wine bottle on the prepared mold. Standard wine bottles slump well within the temperature range of the schedule below.
• The mold is COE agnostic. Match the anneal soak temperature to your glass: 950 F for standard glass bottles and COE96, or 900 F for COE90.
• Let the kiln cool fully before removing the slumped piece. Re-coat the mold with primer as needed between firings.
