The Sushi Tray Slumping Mold from Creative Paradise is a rectangle slump form with a mold footprint of 11 inches by 5.5 inches and a diagonal of 12.75 inches. A pre-fused glass blank or a cut fusible sheet is placed over the form and fired so the glass softens and drapes into the rectangle shape by gravity, producing a shallow tray suited to serving, display, or decorative purposes.
Like all ceramic kiln molds, this one is COE agnostic. Use it with COE96, COE90, or any compatible fusible glass by matching your firing schedule to the glass you choose. The mold is reusable across many firings when primed and cared for properly. Creative Paradise notes that the size requires only a modest amount of glass, making it accessible for those new to slumping as well as experienced fusers.
What does the Sushi Tray Slumping Mold make? It slumps a pre-fused glass blank or sheet into a shallow rectangle tray shape, approximately 11 inches by 5.5 inches, in a single firing.
What size glass blank do I need? Cut or fuse a blank to cover the 11 inch by 5.5 inch mold footprint. Allow a small margin at the edges to account for how the glass will conform to the form during the slump.
What COE glass can I use in this mold? Any COE. Ceramic kiln molds are COE agnostic, so the same mold works with COE96, COE90, or other fusible glass. Match your firing schedule to the glass you are using.
How do I prep the mold before slumping? Coat the mold surface with a kiln shelf primer such as a boron nitride spray (for example ZYP) or a kiln wash such as Hotline Primo Primer , and let it dry completely before placing your glass so the piece releases cleanly after firing.

Working Notes
These are guidelines, not guarantees. Every kiln fires a little differently, so test a small run first when the result matters and follow a slumping schedule suited to your glass and kiln.
Prime the mold surface with a boron nitride mold primer such as ZYP Boron Nitride Mold Primer , or a kiln wash, and let it dry completely before placing your glass so the piece does not stick.
Place a pre-fused blank or a cut sheet of fusible glass over or into the form before firing. The glass softens and drapes into the rectangle tray shape as the kiln heats.
The mold is COE agnostic. Use a slumping schedule matched to your glass, adjusting the final anneal soak for your COE.
Let the kiln cool fully before removing the slumped piece. Re coat the mold with primer as needed between firings.
The Slide Hi Temp brand separator is not recommended with these molds.
Creative Paradise Suggested Firing Schedule
This is a suggested COE96 starting schedule, not a guarantee. Every kiln fires differently. Test a small run and adjust the schedule for your glass and kiln.
Slump (COE96):
Segment Rate Temp (F) Hold 1 300 1260 20 2 9999 950* 60
*Segment 2 is the anneal soak at 950 F for COE96. If using COE90, adjust this temperature to 900 F.
