The Vintage 2 Texture Fusing Tile from Creative Paradise is a round ceramic tile measuring 9.25 inches in diameter. It is used in the kiln like a kiln shelf tile: place a sheet of fusible glass on the prepared surface and fire it, and the raised vintage texture pattern transfers to the underside of the glass as it softens.
Frit can also be fused directly on the tile to create a dramatic textured pattern in the glass. Like all Creative Paradise ceramic tiles, this one is COE agnostic and reusable across many firings when prepped and cared for properly.
What does the Vintage 2 Texture Fusing Tile do? It transfers a raised vintage texture pattern to the surface of fused glass. Place a sheet of fusible glass on the prepared tile, fire it, and the texture is impressed into the glass piece as it softens.
Can I use frit on the texture tile? Yes. Frit fused directly on the tile picks up the raised texture and creates a dramatic pattern in the finished piece.
What COE glass can I use? Any COE. Ceramic tiles are COE agnostic, so the same tile works with COE96, COE90, or other fusible glass. Match your firing schedule to the glass you are using.
How do I prep the tile before firing? Coat the tile surface with a glass separator, a boron nitride spray such as ZYP, or a kiln wash such as Hotline Primo Primer following the product instructions, and let it dry completely before placing glass on the tile.

Working Notes
These are guidelines, not guarantees. Every kiln fires a little differently, so test a small run first when the result matters and follow a fusing schedule suited to your glass and kiln.
Coat the tile surface with a glass separator or boron nitride mold primer such as ZYP Boron Nitride Mold Primer , or a kiln wash, and let it dry completely before placing glass.
Place a sheet of fusible glass on the prepared tile surface. The texture transfers to the underside of the glass as it fuses down during firing.
Frit can also be fused directly on the tile to create a textured pattern in the finished piece.
The tile is COE agnostic. Use a fusing schedule matched to your glass, adjusting the final anneal soak for your COE.
The suggested Full Fuse schedule below is for a double layer of COE96 glass. Let the kiln cool fully before removing the glass from the tile. Re coat the tile with separator or kiln wash as needed between firings.
The Slide Hi Temp brand separator is not recommended with these tiles.
Creative Paradise Suggested Firing Schedule
This is a suggested COE96 starting schedule, not a guarantee. Every kiln fires differently. Test a small run and adjust the schedule for your glass and kiln.
Full Fuse (COE96):
Segment Rate Temp (F) Hold 1 275 1150 60 2 50 1300 20 3 350 1465 05 4 9999 950* 60
*Segment 4 is the anneal soak at 950 F for COE96. If using COE90, adjust this temperature to 900 F.
