Vintage 3 Crystal Texture Fusing Tile

The Vintage 3 Crystal Texture Fusing Tile from Creative Paradise is a round ceramic tile, 8.5 inches in diameter, that adds a crystal texture to the underside of glass during fusing. Place a sheet or fused blank on the tile's textured face, fire, and as the glass softens it picks up the Vintage 3 crystal pattern on its bottom surface. Frit may also be fused directly on the tile to create a patterned piece.

Like all ceramic kiln accessories from Creative Paradise, the tile is COE agnostic and reusable across many firings. Apply a glass separator or kiln wash following the separator manufacturer's instructions before placing glass on the tile.

What does the Vintage 3 Crystal Texture Fusing Tile do?
It transfers a crystal texture pattern to the underside of glass during fusing. Place a glass sheet on the tile's textured face, fire, and the bottom surface of the glass takes on the Vintage 3 crystal pattern.

Working Notes

These are guidelines, not guarantees. Every kiln fires a little differently, so test a small run first when the result matters and follow a fusing schedule suited to your glass and kiln.

• Prime the textured face with a boron nitride mold primer such as ZYP Boron Nitride Mold Primer, or a kiln wash such as Hotline Primo Primer, following the separator manufacturer's instructions, and let it dry completely before placing glass on the tile.
• Place a prepared glass sheet or blank on the textured surface. As the glass softens in the kiln, its underside picks up the crystal texture pattern.
• Frit may also be fused directly on the tile to create a patterned piece.
• The tile is COE agnostic. Use a firing schedule matched to your glass, adjusting the final anneal soak for your COE.
• Let the kiln cool fully before removing the fused piece. Re coat the tile with separator as needed between firings.

Creative Paradise Suggested Firing Schedule

This is a suggested COE96 starting schedule, not a guarantee. Every kiln fires differently. Test a small run and adjust the schedule for your glass and kiln.

Full Fuse (COE96): for a double layer of COE96 glass.

*Segment 4 is the anneal soak at 950 F for COE96. If using COE90, adjust this temperature to 900 F.
