• Prime both cavities before every firing with ZYP Boron Nitride Mold Primer or Hotline Primo Primer and let the primer dry completely before adding glass.
• Fill the cavities with frit, frits and flakes, dichroic Firestrips, murrini, or millefiori. Varying the fill materials produces different color blends and surface effects in each ornament.
• Use the fill weights as a starting guide: about 65 grams for the 4 inch ornament and about 75 grams for the 5.5 inch ornament.
• The mold is COE agnostic. Use a full fuse schedule matched to your glass.
• Let the kiln cool fully before removing the cast ornaments. Re-prime the mold before each subsequent firing.

Colour de Verre Suggested Firing Guidelines

This is a suggested starting point, not a guarantee. Every kiln fires differently. Follow the Colour de Verre project sheet for this mold and test a small run before committing to a full batch.

• Heat no faster than about 350 F (195 C) per hour.
• Fire to no more than about 1450 F (785 C).
• Follow with a controlled cool and an anneal soak matched to your specific glass and COE. Consult your glass manufacturer for the correct anneal temperature.
