Wissmach Blush (color code 96-522) is COE 96 kiln glass, a pale warm pink cream opaque in a 3mm sheet, tested for fusing compatibility.
Appearance A quiet, even cream with just enough pink warmth to earn the name, closer to unglazed porcelain than to a true pastel pink. As an opaque it blocks light and reads the same on a lightbox or a tabletop, making it a gentle skin tone and warm neutral for layered work.
Striking Wissmach notes that its Opaque and Prisma colors may strike to a deeper or denser color after firing, so the fired sheet can come back with the blush a little more pronounced than the raw glass. Fire a sample chip first when the exact tint matters.
Working notes Wissmach’s recommended full fuse schedule for a 6mm project made from two 3mm layers: heat at 300 degrees F per hour to 1225 F and hold 30 minutes, then 600 per hour to 1460 F with a 10 minute hold, cool as fast as the kiln allows to 960 F and hold 1 hour, then 100 per hour down to 700 F. These numbers come from Wissmach’s current published firing guidance. They are guidelines, not guarantees. Kilns differ, so fire a small test piece first.
Reactions Blush is not flagged on Wissmach's COE 96 reactive chart. It sits next to any color in the line without forming a reaction line, so it can back reactive and non reactive colors alike without adding chemistry of its own.
