How does the Holly Texture Fusing Tile work?
Lay a sheet or stack of fusible glass on the prepared tile face. As the kiln reaches full fuse temperature, the glass softens and picks up the holly pattern from the tile surface, leaving the texture impressed into the bottom of the finished piece.

What glass can I use with this tile?
Any COE. The ceramic tile is COE agnostic, so it works with COE96, COE90, or other fusible glass. Match your firing schedule to the glass you are using.

Working Notes

• Prime the tile face with a boron nitride mold primer such as ZYP Boron Nitride Mold Primer, or a kiln wash, and let it dry completely before laying glass on it so the glass does not stick.
• The suggested starting stack is a double layer of fusible glass sheet with frit. Arrange the frit for color and coverage, then lay the glass on the prepared tile face.
• The tile is COE agnostic. Use a full fuse schedule matched to your glass, adjusting the final anneal soak for your COE.
• Let the kiln cool fully before removing the fused piece. Re-coat the tile with primer as needed between firings.
• The Slide Hi Temp brand separator is not recommended with these tiles.

This is a suggested COE96 starting schedule, not a guarantee. Every kiln fires differently. Test a small run and adjust the schedule for your glass and kiln.

Full Fuse (COE96): for a double layer of glass sheet with frit.

*Segment 4 is the anneal soak at 950 F for COE96. If using COE90, adjust this temperature to 900 F.
