Lady of Woods Textured Fusing Tile

The Lady of Woods Textured Fusing Tile from Creative Paradise imprints its woodland design onto glass placed on its surface during firing. The tile measures 12 inches by 12 inches, with a diagonal of 17.25 inches. Lay one or two layers of fusible glass sheet over the primed tile and fire to a full fuse, and the softened glass picks up the raised Lady of Woods texture on its underside.

Like all ceramic fusing tiles from Creative Paradise, this one is COE agnostic and reusable across many firings. Creative Paradise supplies a suggested full fuse schedule for a double layer of COE96 glass with frit. The same tile works with COE96, COE90, or other compatible fusible glass by adjusting the anneal soak temperature to match your glass.

What does the Lady of Woods tile produce?
A 12 inch square glass panel with the Lady of Woods woodland design fired into the underside in a single firing. The 17.25 inch diagonal span makes it a substantial piece suited to decorative panels, wall art, or tile inserts.

How do I use this fusing tile?
Prime the tile surface, then lay one or two layers of fusible glass sheet over it. Fire to a full fuse so the softened glass settles onto the surface and picks up the texture. When the kiln has cooled fully, the glass lifts off with the design imprinted on its underside.

What COE glass can I use?
Any COE. The tile is COE agnostic, so it works with COE96, COE90, or other compatible fusible glass. Match your firing schedule to the glass you are using and adjust the anneal soak temperature accordingly.

How do I prep the tile before firing?
Coat the tile surface with a boron nitride primer or kiln wash and let it dry completely before placing glass on it. This keeps the fused glass from bonding to the tile surface.

Working Notes

These are guidelines, not guarantees. Every kiln fires a little differently, so test a small run first when the result matters and follow a fusing schedule suited to your glass and kiln.

• Prime the tile surface with a boron nitride mold primer such as ZYP Boron Nitride Mold Primer, or a kiln wash such as Hotline Primo Primer, and let it dry completely before placing glass on it so the glass does not bond to the tile.
• Place one or two layers of fusible glass sheet over the primed surface. Frit can be added on top for color or design. The suggested schedule below is based on a double layer of COE96 glass with frit.
• The tile is COE agnostic. Use a full fuse schedule matched to your glass, adjusting the final anneal soak temperature for your COE.
• Let the kiln cool fully before removing the fused panel. Re-coat the tile with primer as needed between firings.
• The Slide Hi Temp brand separator is not recommended with these tiles.

Creative Paradise Suggested Firing Schedule

This is a suggested COE96 starting schedule, not a guarantee. Every kiln fires differently. Test a small run and adjust the schedule for your glass and kiln.

Full Fuse (COE96, double layer with frit):

*Segment 5 is the anneal soak at 950 F for COE96. If using COE90, adjust this temperature to 900 F.
