Oceanside Celadon (style 2282-96) is System 96 tested-compatible 96 COE fusible frit, a soft sage celadon opalescent in crushed glass.
Appearance
A pale, dusty sage green with a soft gray cast, the muted celadon of glazed pottery. Crushed fine it reads as an even, powdery field of quiet green with only slight grain variation, soft and semi-solid rather than clear.
Working notes
A calm, muted green for shading and soft coverage. It reads consistently over a base and pairs easily with brighter accents.
Reactions
This is a copper-bearing color, rated low on the System 96 reactive scale. Fused against a sulfur-bearing glass it can develop a reaction line or a shift in color where the two meet, an effect fusers use on purpose for shading and depth. Next to non-reactive colors it stays true. See the System 96 Reactive Color Chart for the colors it reacts with.
Using the frit
Frit is crushed glass in grades from fine powder to coarse grains. Use finer grades for shading and smooth gradients, coarser grades for texture, speckle, or packing casting molds.
Fusing and compatibility
Tested compatible with any 96 COE glass in the System 96 family. With glass from other makers, matching COE alone does not guarantee compatibility, so fire a small test tile first.
