Oceanside Cherry Red Transparent Iridescent (style OGT151SFIR) is System 96 tested-compatible 96 COE fusible sheet glass, a deep cherry red transparent carrying an iridescent surface coating.
Appearance
A rich cherry red, fully transparent, overlaid with an iridescent sheen that shifts toward pink, coppery orange, and soft gold as the light moves. The color runs deep and saturated while the iridescent layer gives the surface a metallic shimmer rather than a flat finish.
Working notes
The iridescent coating sits on one face while the reverse stays plain transparent red, so you can turn the shimmer up or bury it in a lamination. Over a light base the red glows and the iridescence catches the light; over dark it reads deeper. Firing iridescent-side up keeps the shimmer on top through a full fuse.
Reactions
This is a sulfur-bearing color, rated low on the System 96 reactive scale. Fused against a copper-bearing glass it can develop a reaction line or a shift in color where the two meet, an effect fusers use on purpose for shading and depth. Fusing and compatibility
Fuses cleanly with any 96 COE product in the System 96 family. With glass from other makers, matching COE alone does not guarantee compatibility, so fire a small test tile first.
