Oceanside Ivory Opalescent (style OGT21071SF) is System 96 tested-compatible 96 COE fusible sheet glass, a soft warm ivory opal in a smooth surface.
Appearance
The color is a gentle cream ivory, warm and pale with a faint milky glow. It is opalescent rather than clear, so it sits somewhere between solid and softly translucent, letting a little light through as a warm haze. The smooth face carries a light sheen and a few soft tonal shifts across the sheet.
Working notes
As a pale opal, ivory works well as a neutral background and as a soft ground under brighter colors. Over a light source it warms and glows slightly; over a dark surface it reads as a solid cream. The smooth face stays smooth and glossy through a full fuse, and a tack fuse keeps more surface relief. Because it is light and semi opaque, colors layered on top stay legible against it.
Reactions
This is a sulfur-bearing color, rated high on the System 96 reactive scale. Fused against a copper-bearing glass it can develop a reaction line or a shift in color where the two meet, an effect fusers use on purpose for shading and depth. Next to non-reactive colors it stays true. See the System 96 Reactive Color Chart for the colors it reacts with.
Format and sizes
Sold as 3mm smooth sheet glass. Choose your size from the options on this page.
Fusing and compatibility
Tested compatible with other System 96 glass, so it fuses cleanly with any 96 COE product in the System 96 family. When you combine it with glass from other makers, matching COE alone does not guarantee compatibility, so fire a small test tile first.
