Oceanside Cherry Red Semi-Opalescent noodles (style OGTN151F) are System 96 tested-compatible 96 COE fusible glass ribbons, a deep cherry red for stripes and detail.
Appearance
The noodles are a deep cherry red, semi-opalescent so the color is dense and saturated with only a little light coming through at the thin edges. Bundled together they read as a rich, dark red, and laid singly they become clean red bands with a soft glow at the edge.
Working notes
The dense red holds over both light and dark backing. A tack fuse keeps the noodles raised for a ribbed surface, while a full fuse melts them flush into the piece.
Reactions
This is a sulfur-bearing color, rated low on the System 96 reactive scale. Fused against a copper-bearing glass it can develop a reaction line or a shift in color where the two meet, an effect fusers use on purpose for shading and depth. Using the noodles
Noodles are flat ribbon strands used for stripes, borders, and fine detail. Lay them across a base for clean bands of color, or cut them into shorter accents.
Fusing and compatibility
Tested compatible with other System 96 glass, so it fuses cleanly with any 96 COE product in the System 96 family. When you combine it with glass from other makers, matching COE alone does not guarantee compatibility, so fire a small test tile first.
