Oceanside Orange Semi-Opalescent Noodles (style OGTN171F) are System 96 tested-compatible 96 COE fusible noodles, flat ribbon strands of bright orange glass.
Appearance
Flat ribbon strands in a bright red orange. As a semi-opal the color is dense and glowing without going fully solid, so bundled they look nearly opaque while single strands warm at the edges.
Working notes
It reads as a bold warm line over both light and dark grounds. The flat shape lays down wider stripes than a stringer while staying thin: a full fuse flattens them into the surface, a tack fuse keeps a raised band.
Reactions
This is a sulfur-bearing color, rated medium on the System 96 reactive scale. Fused against a copper-bearing glass it can develop a reaction line or a shift in color where the two meet, an effect fusers use on purpose for shading and depth. Next to non-reactive colors it stays true. See the System 96 Reactive Color Chart for the colors it reacts with.
Using the noodles
Lay them side by side for a woven look, cut them to length for clean lines, or scatter them across a base for pattern.
Fusing and compatibility
Fuses cleanly with the rest of the System 96 line. With glass from other makers, matching COE alone does not guarantee a fit, so fire a test tile first.
