Oceanside Rust Noodles (style OGTN571F) is System 96 tested-compatible 96 COE fusible noodles, flat ribbon strands of semi-opalescent rust glass.
Appearance
Flat ribbon strands in a warm rust red, semi-opalescent so the color reads solid and dense rather than see-through, an even brick-to-tomato red with clean flat faces.
Working notes
They lay down as small stripes and hold their rust tone over any background rather than glowing through. A full fuse melts and rounds them; a tack fuse keeps them raised as ribbon lines.
Reactions
This is a sulfur-bearing color, rated low on the System 96 reactive scale. Fused against a copper-bearing glass it can develop a reaction line or a shift in color where the two meet, an effect fusers use on purpose for shading and depth. Next to non-reactive colors it stays true. See the System 96 Reactive Color Chart for the colors it reacts with.
Using the noodles
Use them for borders and bolder linework than stringers. Lay them across a base for banded designs or wider outlines and snap them to length.
Fusing and compatibility
Tested compatible with any 96 COE glass in the System 96 family. With glass from other makers, matching COE alone does not guarantee compatibility, so fire a test tile first.
