Oceanside Rust Semi-Opalescent Stringers (style OGTS571F) are thin threads of rust orange glass, System 96 96 COE fusible.
Appearance
Warm burnt rust orange threads that read semi-opaque, with light through the thinner edges and a denser body along the center.
Working notes
Warm, earthy orange lines for accents and outlines, reading fairly solid over most bases. They hold raised in a tack fuse and melt flush in a full fuse.
Reactions
This is a sulfur-bearing color, rated low on the System 96 reactive scale. Fused against a copper-bearing glass it can develop a reaction line or a shift in color where the two meet, an effect fusers use on purpose for shading and depth. Next to non-reactive colors it stays true. See the System 96 Reactive Color Chart for the colors it reacts with.
Using the stringers
Place them on the surface for crisp detail, or bend and shape them into curves.
Fusing and compatibility
Fuses cleanly with any other 96 COE glass in the System 96 family. Matching COE alone does not guarantee compatibility across makers, so fire a small test tile when mixing brands.
