Oceanside Dark Purple (style OGTS146F) is System 96 tested-compatible 96 COE fusible stringers, a deep dark purple transparent in thin glass threads.
Appearance
A very deep aubergine, so dark it reads almost black when bundled, opening to rich transparent purple where light passes through the thin threads. Held to the light the true wine-purple shows along each strand. It is a clear transparent, not an opal.
Working notes
These stringers give strong, near-black outlines and fine linework, then reveal their purple depth in a lit panel. As a transparent they deepen where they overlap themselves or sit over a colored base.
Reactions
This color is not on the System 96 reactive list, so it sits next to other colors without forming a reaction line. See the System 96 Reactive Color Chart for the colors that do react.
Using the stringers
Stringers are thin glass threads for drawing fine lines, lettering, and linework. Break them to length and set them where you want detail, then fire; a full fuse melts them into the surface while a tack fuse keeps them raised.
Fusing and compatibility
Tested compatible with other System 96 glass, so it fuses cleanly with any 96 COE product in the System 96 family. When you combine it with glass from other makers, matching COE alone does not guarantee compatibility, so fire a small test tile first.
