Oceanside Red Reactive (style OGTS003F) is System 96 tested compatible 96 COE fusible stringers, a reactive color that develops deep red against copper-bearing glass.
Appearance
On their own these thin threads read nearly clear with only a faint tint. Laid across copper-bearing glass and fired, they develop a deep red to maroon line where the two meet, shown in the photo against a blue base.
Working notes
On the surface they stand up at a tack fuse and melt flush at a full fuse. Over non-reactive glass they stay pale, so the red appears only where you want it.
Reactions
This is a reactive color developed to react against copper-bearing glass, typically producing a deep reddish tone where the two meet. Fusers use it deliberately for shading and accents. See the System 96 Reactive Color Chart for details.
Using the stringers
Draw lines and linework with these thin threads: straight for borders and grids, or shaped for script and organic detail.
Fusing and compatibility
Fuses cleanly with any other 96 COE glass in the System 96 family. With glass from other makers, matching COE alone does not guarantee compatibility, so fire a small test tile first.
