Oceanside Terra Cotta (style OGT21572SF) is System 96 tested-compatible 96 COE fusible sheet glass, a warm terracotta opalescent on a smooth surface.
Appearance
An earthy burnt-orange brown, the muted clay tone of terracotta pottery, warm and slightly toasted. As an opalescent it is dense and solid with a soft satin surface and only faint shading across the sheet.
Working notes
Both faces are smooth, so either can face up. A full fuse brings the surface to a soft gloss, and a tack fuse holds crisp edges and layers. It reads as a solid warm field rather than transmitting light, making a good earthy base or ground color.
Reactions
This is a sulfur-bearing color, rated low on the System 96 reactive scale. Fused against a copper-bearing glass it can develop a reaction line or a shift in color where the two meet, an effect fusers use on purpose for shading and depth. Fusing and compatibility
Fuses cleanly with any 96 COE product in the System 96 family. With glass from other makers, matching COE alone does not guarantee compatibility, so fire a small test tile first.
