Oceanside Turquoise Green Opalescent Frit (style 2232-96) is System 96 tested-compatible 96 COE fusible frit, crushed turquoise opal glass.
Appearance
Crushed glass in a bright turquoise teal green. Dense and opal, it reads as a solid vivid aqua green with a soft glow where light catches the chips, spreading into a strong even field.
Working notes
A bold aqua fill and shading that holds over both light and dark grounds. It packs well into cast shapes and fuses cleanly into the surface.
Reactions
This is a copper-bearing color, rated medium on the System 96 reactive scale. Fused against a sulfur-bearing glass it can develop a reaction line or a shift in color where the two meet, an effect fusers use on purpose for shading and depth. Using the frit
Frit is crushed glass in grades from powder to coarse. Finer grades give shading and painterly washes; coarser grades give texture, sparkle, and body for casting. Sprinkle it over a base, pack it into molds, or mix grades to build depth.
Fusing and compatibility
Fires on the System 96 schedule with any 96 COE glass in the family. With glass from other makers, matching COE alone does not guarantee compatibility, so fire a small test tile first.
