Etched Luminescent Budding Branches depicts slender stems fanning across the sheet, each carrying rows of pointed leaves and clustered dotted buds. The dense, line-forward botanical field covers the surface edge to edge, and the etched luminescent glass holds a luminous rainbow shimmer across the leaves and branches.
The luminescent finish is a pearlescent rainbow shimmer that shifts with the light and varies sheet to sheet. On a Black base the rainbow reads bold and high-contrast; on Clear it stays translucent and passes light for suncatchers; on Pale Green it reads soft and luminous against a tinted ground.

Firing Instructions & Helpful Tips: Luminescent Etched Glass
These are guidelines, not guarantees. Each kiln and each handmade sheet behaves a little differently, so test a small piece first when the result matters.
- Cut on the non-etched (back) side. To cut on the etched (front) side instead, pre-fire etched-side-down to about 1350°F first.
- Do not cap with clear.
- For the first fuse, fire etched-side-down on fiber paper. Fired face-up the luminescent coating can burn off.
- It can be re-fired etched-side-up at a lower temperature (under 1400°F; we don't exceed 1250°F).

What is etched luminescent glass?
A luminescent coating on the glass surface that gives a luminous, pearlescent rainbow shimmer in ordinary light. It is not glow in the dark. Selected areas of the coating have been etched away to leave the pattern: the remaining coating carries the rainbow shimmer, and the etched-through areas reveal the base glass beneath. The coating is on one side.
What base options are available for Etched Luminescent Budding Branches?
Black Luminescent, Clear Luminescent, and Pale Green Luminescent, all 3mm. The base is selected at order time.
How does the rainbow shimmer look on different bases?
On a Black base the rainbow shimmer reads bold and high-contrast. On a Clear base it is more translucent and passes light, suited to suncatchers and windows. On a Pale Green base it reads soft and luminous against a light, tinted ground. The shimmer shifts with the light and varies sheet to sheet, and it is seen in normal light, not in the dark.
