Banded tribal geometry etched into genuine dichroic glass, stacked rows of chevrons, diamonds, and dotted line work, with base, dichroic combo, and size selected from an AGS curated set.
Etched Dichroic Stripes stacks horizontal bands of tribal geometry, rows of chevrons, diamonds, X motifs, and dotted dashes, one band above the next. The repeating banded line work gives dense, all over coverage with no single focal point, an even graphic field worked into etched dichroic glass.
The dichroic coating reflects one color and transmits another. On Black Glass the pattern is bold and high contrast, showing primarily the reflected color, since light cannot pass through the opaque base. On Clear Glass light passes through, so both transmitted and reflected colors appear at once, shifting with viewing angle.
Best for jewelry, focal cuts, and accent strips. The dichroic color combination is chosen from an AGS curated set offered for this pattern. An ArtGlassSupplies.com exclusive.

Working Notes
Firing Guidelines & Helpful Tips
Firing schedules and surface results vary by kiln, glass thickness, base glass, coating, layering, and desired finish. These are guidelines, not guarantees. Use the base glass manufacturer's guidance, and test a small piece first when appearance or compatibility is important.
- Cut on the unetched (back) side.
- Clear capping, uncapped firing, and coating side orientation can each affect the final look, coating side up tends toward a glossier finish, and coating side down tends toward a more matte finish, so test first when the result matters.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is etched dichroic glass?
Dichroic glass has ancient roots, including the Roman Lycurgus Cup. Modern dichroic glass was advanced through NASA era vacuum deposition work, where ultra thin metal coatings were applied to transparent surfaces for optical protection. Today, dichroic glass uses thin metal oxide layers on the glass surface to create color that shifts with light and viewing angle. For these products, selected areas of the coating have been etched away to leave the pattern, and the etched through areas reveal the base glass beneath. The coating is on one side only.
What base and color combinations are available for Etched Dichroic Stripes?
Choose a Black Glass or Clear Glass base, then an AGS curated dichroic color combination: Violet or Mixture. Offered in a 4"x4" size. Base, combination, and size are selected at order time.
How does the dichroic color look on Black vs Clear glass?
On Black Glass you see primarily the reflected color, bold and high contrast, because no light passes through the opaque base. On Clear Glass light passes through, so you see both the transmitted and reflected colors at once, shifting with the viewing angle, which suits suncatchers and windows.
Is the Etched Dichroic Stripes made to order?
Each piece is etched to order. Because it is etched on demand, it may not ship under our standard next day shipping guarantee, allow extra handling time.
Can I get this pattern on a different glass, or my own pattern etched?
