Oceanside Apple Jade Opalescent Frit (style 726-96) is System 96 tested-compatible 96 COE fusible frit, crushed opal glass in a bright apple green.
Appearance
Crushed opal granules in a lively apple jade green, a fresh, solid green that reads opaque. The broken faces carry a soft opal sheen, and pieces range from small chips to larger grains.
Working notes
Sprinkle thin for a light dusting or deeper for full color. A full fuse melts it into the surface; a tack fuse keeps a grainy texture. As an opal it stays a solid green over any base.
Reactions
This is a copper-bearing color, rated medium on the System 96 reactive scale. Fused against a sulfur-bearing glass it can develop a reaction line or a shift in color where the two meet, an effect fusers use on purpose for shading and depth. Using the frit
Frit is crushed glass in graded sizes for shading, blending, and casting. Use it for color washes, gradients, and surface detail, or to fill open areas in a mold.
Fusing and compatibility
Fuses cleanly with any 96 COE glass in the System 96 family. With other makers, matching COE alone does not guarantee a fit, so fire a test tile first.
