Oceanside Fern Green Opalescent Frit (style 7559-96) is System 96 tested-compatible 96 COE fusible frit, crushed fern green glass for shading and accents.
Appearance
A bright, fresh green, opalescent, with lighter and more translucent grains mixed through the crush. The lively tone reads well for foliage and grass.
Working notes
It melts smoother at a full fuse and keeps more grain texture at a tack fuse.
Reactions
This is a copper-bearing color, rated medium on the System 96 reactive scale. Fused against a sulfur-bearing glass it can develop a reaction line or a shift in color where the two meet, an effect fusers use on purpose for shading and depth. Using the frit
It comes in grades from fine powder to coarse chips. Sift a light layer for soft blends, mix grades for gradients, or pack it deeper for casting and texture.
Fusing and compatibility
Tested compatible with any other 96 COE glass in the System 96 family. With glass from other makers, matching COE alone does not guarantee compatibility, so fire a test tile first.
