Oceanside Marigold Opalescent (style OGT60355F) is System 96 tested-compatible 96 COE fusible sheet glass, a warm golden marigold opal in a solid 3mm sheet.
Appearance
The photo shows a rich, even marigold yellow with a faint golden warmth. It reads as a solid opalescent color rather than a see-through glass, with a smooth, glossy face and no streaking or texture across the sheet.
Working notes
As an opalescent, this glass works as a solid block of color and does not let much light through, so it holds its marigold tone whether it sits over a light or dark base. The smooth face stays smooth through a full fuse, while a tack fuse softens the color and edges but keeps the piece raised. It pairs well as a solid ground or as accents against transparents.
Reactions
This is a sulfur-bearing color, rated medium on the System 96 reactive scale. Fused against a copper-bearing glass it can develop a reaction line or a shift in color where the two meet, an effect fusers use on purpose for shading and depth. Next to non-reactive colors it stays true. See the System 96 Reactive Color Chart for the colors it reacts with.
Format and sizes
Sold as 3mm smooth opalescent sheet glass. Choose your size from the options on this page.
Fusing and compatibility
Tested compatible with other System 96 glass, so it fuses cleanly with any 96 COE product in the System 96 family. When you combine it with glass from other makers, matching COE alone does not guarantee compatibility, so fire a small test tile first.
