Oceanside Marigold (style OGTS355F) is System 96 tested-compatible 96 COE fusible stringers, a bright marigold yellow opalescent in thin glass threads.
Appearance
A sunny, saturated yellow with the warm marigold cast the color is named for, dense and opaque rather than see-through. Bundled, the threads read as a solid bright yellow with soft highlights along their length, and as an opalescent the color stays solid over any ground.
Working notes
Marigold makes warm, bright lines for detail, outlines, and accents over a base. A full fuse melts the threads flush; a tack fuse keeps them raised as texture. The solid opal yellow holds strong over darker colors and adds clean warmth.
Reactions
This is a sulfur-bearing color, rated medium on the System 96 reactive scale. Fused against a copper-bearing glass it can develop a reaction line or a shift in color where the two meet, an effect fusers use on purpose for shading and depth. Next to non-reactive colors it stays true. See the System 96 Reactive Color Chart for the colors it reacts with.
Using the stringers
Break them to length and set them where you want fine lines or lettering, then fire.
Fusing and compatibility
Tested compatible with any other 96 COE glass in the System 96 family. With glass from other makers, matching COE alone does not guarantee compatibility, so fire a test tile first.
