Oceanside Dark Amber (style OGTN111F) is System 96 tested-compatible 96 COE fusible noodles, thin flat ribbons of transparent amber glass.
Appearance
These are thin, flat noodle strands in a warm transparent amber that ranges from honey gold to a deeper brown-amber. Held to light the strands glow a rich caramel, and their flat ribbon shape catches light along each length.
Working notes
As a transparent, dark amber glows brightest over light and white bases and deepens over dark ones. A full fuse melts the noodles smoothly into the surface, while a tack fuse keeps them raised as defined lines.
Reactions
This is a sulfur-bearing color, rated high on the System 96 reactive scale. Fused against a copper-bearing glass it can develop a reaction line or a shift in color where the two meet, an effect fusers use on purpose for shading and depth. Next to non-reactive colors it stays true. See the System 96 Reactive Color Chart for the colors it reacts with.
Using the noodles
Noodles are thin flat strands used to draw lines, stripes, and fine detail across a fused piece. Lay them on the surface for linework, borders, or a woven look, and they melt into the design when fired.
Fusing and compatibility
Tested compatible with other System 96 glass, so it fuses cleanly with any 96 COE product in the System 96 family. When you combine it with glass from other makers, matching COE alone does not guarantee compatibility, so fire a small test tile first.
