Oceanside Dark Amber (style OGTS111F) is System 96 tested-compatible 96 COE fusible stringers, thin transparent amber glass threads for fine lines.
Appearance
A rich warm amber, a deep honey-brown that stays clear and transparent. Each thread is thin and round; bundled they glow a darker toffee, laid singly they draw a fine amber line.
Working notes
Transparent, so the amber reads strongest with light behind it and darkens where threads overlap. Use single threads for outlines and detail, several together for a deeper field. A tack fuse keeps them raised; a full fuse melts them flush.
Reactions
This is a sulfur-bearing color, rated high on the System 96 reactive scale. Fused against a copper-bearing glass it can develop a reaction line or a shift in color where the two meet, an effect fusers use on purpose for shading and depth. Next to non-reactive colors it stays true. See the System 96 Reactive Color Chart for the colors it reacts with.
Using the stringers
Stringers are thin glass threads for drawing lines and fine linework. Use them for outlines, lettering, or delicate patterns, snap them to length by hand, and keep them flat so they fuse evenly.
Fusing and compatibility
Fuses cleanly with any 96 COE product in the System 96 family. With glass from other makers, matching COE alone does not guarantee compatibility, so fire a small test tile first.
