Oceanside Charcoal (style OGTS2806F) is System 96 tested compatible 96 COE fusible stringers, dark gray opalescent threads.
Appearance
These are thin glass threads in a deep charcoal gray, bundled together in the photo where they read nearly black. As an opalescent color the gray stays solid rather than clear. Used singly they draw crisp dark lines against lighter glass.
Working notes
As an opalescent, the charcoal holds solid over any base and makes a strong outline against pale colors. Laid on the surface the threads stand up at a tack fuse and melt flush at a full fuse.
Reactions
This color is not on the System 96 reactive list, so it sits next to other colors without forming a reaction line. See the System 96 Reactive Color Chart for the colors that do react.
Using the stringers
Stringers are thin glass threads used to draw lines and linework across a fused piece. Lay them straight for borders and grids, or shape them for script and organic detail.
Fusing and compatibility
Tested compatible with other System 96 glass, so it fuses cleanly with any 96 COE product in the System 96 family. When you combine it with glass from other makers, matching COE alone does not guarantee compatibility, so fire a small test tile first.
